The tiny village of xerokambos is isolated in the south east of Crete and has some of the most beautiful beaches of the island. The main beach is blue flagged, with a couple of tavernas nearby, few sun umbrellas and crystal clear water. Walking below the small white church, two other beatiful coves have clay on the sandy beach.

The first beach of Xerokambos (to the west) is the harbor of Amatos; a natural enclosed harbor with calm water. The remote beach is pebbly and is ideal for spearfishing. There are a few tamarisk trees and a ramp for launching boats. The road leading to the harbor from the settlement of Xerokambos is an accessible dirt road.
